Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Gail Melancon Ditch, 68, who passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers will be Breony Ditch Hailey Melancon. Gift bearers will be Nilah Ditch and Ahra Chaisson.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Gail was born in Arnaudville to the late Sidney and Marjorie Thomas Melancon. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Cursillo, and Beta Sigma. Gail worked at Atlas Feed Mills for 24 years before retiring in 2006. She enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, and spoiling her grandchildren. Gail will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Jaime Lynn Ditch, and Jennifer Ann Ditch; sister, Donna Melancon; grandchildren, Breony, Keydon, Nilah, and Makai Ditch, and Ahra Chaisson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Ditch; father, Sidney Arthur Melancon; mother, Marjorie Jane Melancon; sister, Diana Zeringue; and brother, Ronald "Boze" Melancon.
Pallbearers will be Ken Zeringue, Lyle Zeringue, Keydon Ditch, Ryan Ditch and Martin Romero.
Honorary pallbearer will be Makai Ditch. and Alan Zeringue.
