St. Martinville - A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2006, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Gary Joseph Guidry, 83, who died Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mr. Guidry served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 - 1945. ?He was the owner of Gary Guidry Heating & A/C Supply Company in New Iberia. ?He served as an usher at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville and was a member of the ""Tuesday Night Sportsman Supper Club"". ?He was an avid reader and a great fan of the L.S.U. Tigers.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Bordelon Guidry of St. Martinville; his son, Neil Edmond Guidry and his wife, Rie Yokono Guidry of New Orleans; his daughter, Cherrie Guidry Daigle and her husband, Vincent Gerard Daigle of St. Martinville; his brother, Judge E.L. Guidry, Jr. of St. Martinville; his sisters, Claudia Fuselier of St. Martinville and Hilda ""Woodie"" Daigre of New Iberia; and three grandchildren, Beau Guidry, Douglas Guidry and Paul Daigle.
He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Guidry; and his parents, Judge E.L. Guidry, Sr. and Claudia Gary Guidry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2006 and continue until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 12:15 p.m. on Monday.
