Geneva Robertson Boutte

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia for Geneva Robertson Boutte, 85, who passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020, in Lafayette. Rev. Randy Courville will be the Celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 10:00 am until 12:15 pm on Saturday. A rosary, led by Linda Robertson, will be prayed at 11:00 am on Saturday. A resident of New Iberia, Geneva Robertson Boutte was born in St. Martinville, LA on July 3, 1935 to the late Willie and Mary Pratt Robertson. She was a beautician for many years, and retired from J.C. Penney in 1993. She was a longtime member of the choir at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, and was a part of the rosary group in Grand Marais. She loved music and dancing, and enjoyed arts and crafts and flower arranging, but what she cherished most was time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed. Mrs. Boutte is survived by her children, Anthony (wife, Lori) Dorsey, and Shawna Dorsey, all of New Iberia; six siblings, Geraldine "Gerri" Brown of Crestview, FL, Beverly "B.B." (husband, Robert) Cousins of San Bernadino, CA, Lorraine Guitierrez of Bellflower, CA, Sylvia (husband, Roland) Diaz of New Orleans, Felton "Malo" (companion, Karen Smith) Robertson of St. Martinville, and Michael (wife, Linda) Robertson of New Iberia; grandchildren, Eric Winins of New Orleans, Chaney (husband, Keith) Olivier of New Iberia, Jordan Dorsey of New Iberia, Alyssa Dorsey of New Orleans; four great-grandchildren, Kylon, Keyden and Kloe' Olivier, and Jayden Dorsey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Boutte; and a sister, Mary Ann Jackson. Pallbearers are Felton "Malo" Robertson, Michael Robertson, Sonny Robertson, Mark Alexander, Elijah Jackson, and Jordan Dorsey. Due to Covid, there will be no repass.
