St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Saint Martinville, for Genevie Joseph Hypolite, 79, who passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, at her residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 pm until 10 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 7 pm on Friday. Rev. Augustinus Seran, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Mary Alice Cormier and Josepha Wiltz. Gift Bearers will be Jasmine Burrell, Brittany Faulk, and Donescia Hypolite. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Genevie J. Hypolite was a lifelong resident of St. Martinville, LA. Mrs. Hypolite was a retired food service manager and was employed by the Diocese of Lafayette and Trinity Catholic School for 28 years. She was a lifelong member of Notre Dame Catholic Church where she was a member of the Fourth Degree Ladies of Grace St. Paul Chapter No. 3 and The Ladies Auxiliary Court No. 54 Knights of Peter Claver. She was also a charter member of The St. Martinville Drexel Society. Mrs. Hypolite leaves to mourn her two children, Julia Wiltz and her husband, George, of Breaux Bridge, and Donald Hypolite and his wife, Sharmaine, of Ganado, TX; seven grandchildren, Nataki Faulk, Donald Hypolite, Jr., Donescia Hypolite, Ebony Faulk, Brittany Faulk, Nelse Hypolite and Kellen Andry; and three sisters, Delores Wiltz of New Orleans, and Regina Charles and Caroline Roberts, of Parks. She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Hypolite; her parents Wesley and Julia Aubrey Joseph; her brothers, John, Matthew, and Edric Joseph; her sisters, Geraldine Lewis and Mary Louise Dauphine; and her godmother, Zenobia Anderson. Pallbearers will be Jermaine Wiltz, Donald Hypolite, Jr., Melvin Johnson, Farrell Anderson, Carter Joseph, and Calasky Joseph. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Hypolite, Sr., Emmett Wiltz, Gerald Joseph, Morris Anderson, Arthur James, Luke Aubrey, Sr., Wallace Wiltz, John Z. Joseph, Farrell Anderson, and Lawrence Jones.
