New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 30, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Genevieve "Jean" Theriot Crochet, 80, who passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Loreauville. Rev. Keith Landry will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Crochet was born on September 5, 1936 to the late Octave and Stella Landry Crochet. She loved reading, cats, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her sons, David Crochet of New Iberia, Mark Crochet of Loreauville, Jeffery Crochet and wife Pam of Loreauville; daughter, Vickie Broussard of Loreauville; sisters, Fabaloa Albert of Erath, Anna Roan and husband Jerry of Pearl, MS; brother, Johnny Theriot of New Iberia; 3 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emile Crochet, Sr., sons, Emile "Peachie" Crochet, Jr., and Keith Crochet, and a brother, Carroll Theriot.
