Genevieve was affectionately known to many as: Ms.Gen, Aunt Gen, Momma and her most favorite, Maw Maw. She would often say, "Lon temp passe," and that is the perfect way to describe her life of 98 years.
From lighting candles in order to read, to her famous word searches, Genevieve has attempted and mostly succeeded at conquering technology as much as she could handle.
Genevieve will be remembered for being an amazing cook and her famous spaghetti, meatball stew and pecan pie. She loved to attend coffee parties with her friends and she was "happy-go-lucky" and nurturing and protective to all who knew her. She was a loving a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Glenn Dupuis, Michael Dupuis (Betty) and Richard Dupuis (Maria); daughters, Debbie Prewitt (Larry) and Charlotte Scivicque (Joseph); daughter-in-law, Cindy Dupuis; grandchildren, Lainey Comiskey (Sean), Casey Dupuis, Addie Laborde (Eric), Lindsey Prewitt, Joddie Dupuis, Jared Dupuis (Tyra), Jade Dupuis, Abigail Scivicque, Robert Scivicque, Danielle Dupuis and David Dupuis; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthon Dupuis; son, Aaron Dupuis; grandson, Barlow Dupuis; great-grandson, Ethan Comiskey; parents, Joseph Gervias Hebert and Celine Bijeaux Hebert; and numerous siblings.
Pallbearers will be Jade Dupuis, David Dupuis, Robert Scivicque, Sean Comiskey, Eric Laborde and Gary Landry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Layne Michael Schlabach and JR Peltier.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Kandace Thibodeaux and the staff of Courtyard Manor, especially Jessica, for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Genevieve's name to a Catholic charity of your choice.
