Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Genevieve Roberts Latiolais, 75, who passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2008, at St. Martin Hospital Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Allen Breaux , associate pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services. Her grandchildren and great-grandchild will serve as gift bearers. Mrs. Latiolais loved camping, sewing, and cooking. She enjoyed her girl time at the casinos. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, especially her African violets and watching hummingbirds. She also worried about her dogs. She would keep people laughing with her sense of humor and never met a stranger. She will be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was The Best Mom in the World. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Meonce Latiolais of Breaux Bridge; her son, Eddie Latiolais and his wife, Cheryl of Lafayette; her daughter, Sharon Latiolais Mertz and her husband, Ron of Lafayette, Yvette Latiolais of Broussard and Jeanese Latiolais Carriere of Lafayette; her sister, Thelma Betancourt of Cecilia; her grandchildren, Valerie Mertz, Grant Mertz and his wife, Esther, Riley Latiolais, Nickolas Carriere, Alysse Carriere; her great-grandhchildren, Mia Desormeaux and Baby Credeur. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elia Hebert Roberts; her son, Jimmy Dale Latiolais; and her brother, Melvin Roberts. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 pm. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 8:00 a.m.until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Eddie Latiolais, Riley Latiolais, Grant Mertz, Ron Mertz, Troy Latiolais and Lester Betancourt, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be her children, sister and niece. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
