New Iberia ;- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Monday, November 30, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Genevieve "Jenny" Babineaux Leleux, 69, who died Thursday, November 26, 2009 in New Iberia. ;
Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. ;
Rev. Blaine Clement will be the Celebrant. ;
Born on July 13, 1940, Jenny was a devoted wife of 50 years, a loving mother and sister, and a friend to all who knew her. She loved her flowers and plants, and spent a lot of time taking care of them. She retired after working 13 years at the Holiday Inn. A very caring and giving person, Jenny loved going to the casino, and planning family gatherings. ;
Survivors include her husband Ray James Leleux of New Iberia; son, Kevin Paul Leleux and wife Susan of New Iberia; daughter, Paula Raye Gourneau and husband Mark of Kingston Springs, TN; brothers, Andrew Babineaux and wife Ramona of Erath, Kirby Babineaux and wife Norma of New Iberia, Gordy Babineaux, Jr. and wife Ruth of New Iberia; sister, Andrea Marie Babineaux of New Iberia; grandchildren, Jayke Michael Ellis, Mitchell Ellis, Kelle Ellis, Summer Gourneau, Harrison Gourneau, and Chance Jude Leleux. ;
She was preceded in death by her parents Gordy Babineaux, Sr. and Flavie Hollier Babineaux; sisters, Brenda Ronsonet, and Joyce Suire. ;
Pallbearers include Felix James Suire, Marty Babineaux, Mitchell Babineaux, Chance Leleux, Jayke Ellis, Mitchell Ellis, and Harrison Gourneau. ;
Honorary pallbearers include Tommy Ronsonet, Barry Duhon, Crawford Mire, Stuart Smith, and Michael Guidry. ;
The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for the great work that they do and for the care they show towards the patients and their families. Also a special thanks to Jenny's sister, Andrea, for the loving care and devotion given throughout her illness, to Sandra Viator who brought her communion and prayers, and to everyone else who helped with her care. ;
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM. ;
