VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Genevieve Poon Cormier Meyers, 74, who passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Poon as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed crawfishing in the local ponds, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Edwin P. Meyers and his wife, Marcia, of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Ruth Nabors and her husband, Jerome, of Breaux Bridge; her step son, Bart J. Meyers and his wife, Tessie, of Houma; her step daughter, Irma Daigle and her husband, Kenny, of Houma; two brothers, Raymond Ray Cormier, of St. Martinville, and Randell Cormier, of Lafayette; and one sister, Regina Din Theriot, of St. Martinville; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Segis Meyers; and her parents, Edwin and Martha Guidry Cormier. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 12 Noon until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Thursday. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Ed Meyers, Bart Meyers, Jerome Nabors, Titus Landry, Ronnie Smith, Wilfred Slim Roberts, and Dustin Rodriguez. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
