Genevieve Sonnier Racca

New Iberia - Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Genevieve Racca, 71, who passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016, in Maurice. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Brother Andrew Starks will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. A native of St. Martinville, and a resident of New Iberia, Genevieve Sonnier Racca was born on August 23, 1945 to the late Marcelin and Armontine Theriot Sonnier. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved going to church and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband, Moise Racca; sons, Heath Racca and wife Connie, Ricky Racca and wife Sheila, Steven Racca and wife Christina, Joseph Racca, and Mark Racca and wife Susie; daughters, Shelly Racca, Lisa Racca, and Melanie Touchet; a sister, Louella Sonnier; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Sonnier and Cecille Latiolais; and a brother, Dalton Sonnier. Pallbearers will be Heath Racca, Rocky Racca, Jeremy Racca, Ricky Racca, Joseph Racca, and Steven Racca.
