Genevieve 'Jenny' Theriot

Saint Martinville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in Saint Martinville, for Genevieve "Jenny" Theriot, 88, who passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue at 8:00 am until 1:30 pm on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Tiffany Patin and Chelsea Segura. Gift Bearers will be Amy Prosper, Payton Patin, Mikah Thibodeaux, Logan Patin, and Leighann Reid. Music will be provided by Pat Melancon and Liz Blanchard. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Saint Martinville. "Jenny" was a member of the Catholic Daughters and enjoyed playing card, shopping, cooking and vacationing. She is survived by her son, Craig Prosper and his fianc, Jill Fremin of St. Martinville; her daughters, Becky Patin of St. Martinville, Tina Segura and her husband, Ronnie of St. Martinville, and Kim Prosper of Lafayette; her ten grandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Lucille Champagne Theriot; her husband, Ben Prosper; her six brothers, Mitchell, Walter, Wallace, Lloyd, Homer, and Alton Theriot; and her five sisters, Lena Laviolette, Marie Dutile, Eva Guilbeau, Rose Blanchard, and Josie Landry. Pallbearers will be Gerard Patin, Laik Patin, Tyler Segura, Everett Alleman, Ben Prosper, and Lance Prosper. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Patin, Bayla Patin, and Channing Patin. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Acadiana and all of her caregivers. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana.
