VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 9, 2010, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Genevieve Thibodeaux, 79, who passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. Born on September 21, 1930, in Delcambre, Genevieve helped raise her brothers sisters and then her own family. Her sisters were her best friends. She enjoyed cooking and Cajun music. Genevieve was a blessing to many, and her generous spirit will be missed by everyone she touched. Survivors include her sons, Pat Thibodeaux and Sharon Boyd of New Iberia, Roger Thibodeaux and wife Garnet of Lafayette, Lynn Thibodeaux and wife Dodi of New Iberia; her daughter, Jennifer Jenny Dore' and husband Bert of New Iberia; her daughter in law, Marian Vedrine Thibodeaux of New Iberia; her brothers, Floyd Boudreaux of Abbeville, Tony Hebert of New Iberia, Howard Boudreaux of Avery Island, Carroll Boudreaux, Sr. of Loreauville, Wilson Boudreaux, Jr. of Esther, Carl Boudreaux of New Iberia; her sisters, Jeanette Mouret of New Iberia, Beverly Bellot of Cade, Ruth Boutte of Jeanerette, Debra Broussard of New Iberia; Judy Bullard of Jeanerette; her grandchildren, Misty Weisert, Laurie Yingling, Glenn Jamie Thibodeaux, Jr., Kristen Abshire, Sean Thibodeaux, Jason Thibodeaux, Trevin Thibodeaux, Aaron Thibodeaux, Emily Dore', David Boyd; her great grandchildren, Lexi Weisert, Ryan Thibodeaux, Averie Lajaunie, Micah Thibodeaux, Tyler Thibodeaux, Alex Abshire, Brantley Boyd Kristopher Yingling and Sean, Blake Blane Abshire. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Junius Thibodeaux, Jr.; her son, Glenn Thibodeaux, Sr.; her father, Lennes Hebert; her mother, Emily Rogers Boudreaux; her step father, Wilson Boudreaux, Sr. and her brother, Jim Hebert. Pallbearers will be Glenn Jamie Thibodeaux, Jr., Sean Thibodeaux, Jason Thibodeaux, Trevin Thibodeaux, Aaron Thibodeaux and Ryan Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Hebert and Bert Dore'. The family would like to thank Dianna Delcambre for her unconditional love and care that was given to their mother during her illness, all done in the spirit of God's love. Also, special thanks to her sons and nurses, Marian Thibodeaux, Laurie Yingling and Kristen Abshire. Great appreciation goes to her granddaughter, Emily Dore' and son in law, Bert Dore', whose love and support enabled Jenny, to care for her mother in their home.A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Friday morning at 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
