Henderson - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson for Genevieve Marie Usie, 81, who passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm on Thursday. A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 pm on Thursday by Charlotte LeBlanc. Fr. Garrett Savoie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Henderson. Genevieve enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and working in her yard. She devoted her life to Bert, her son, for 31 years. She will be remembered for being meticulous in everything she did in her life. She is survived by her son, Glenn P. Usie and wife Delania of Lafayette; her daughter, Bonnie S. Usie of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Yates M. Usie of Cecilia and Joshua J. Usie of Parks; and her great grandchildren, Alysa Usie and Skylar Usie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Usie; her son, Bert Usie; her father, Jules Wiltz, Sr.; her mother, Ament Patin Wiltz; her brothers, Jules Wiltz, Jr., Emery Wiltz, Shelton Wiltz, Gercie Wiltz, Harris Wiltz, and Nolan Wiltz; and her sister, Doris Guidry. Pallbearers will be Glenn P. Usie, Yates M. Usie, Joshua J. Usie, Kerry Wiltz, Darwin Guidry, and Marcus Wiltz.
