George Sr. Bourda

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for George Bourda, Sr., 100, who passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Friday. Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Nicole Antoine and Neil Bourda. Gift Bearers will be Mya Livingston, Brittany Alexander, and Nericia Bourda. Interment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. He is survived by his sons, Sandy Bourda, Sr. and wife Kathy of St. Martinville, Christopher Bourda and wife Jacqueline of St. Martinville, Leward Bourda, Sr. and wife Hilda of Houston, TX, George Bourda, Jr. and wife Carolyn of New Orleans, and Lindsay Bourda, Sr. and wife Delores of St. Martinville; daughters, Gretta Pierre and husband John of St. Martinville, Ella Mae Alexander of St. Martinville, and Marie Decuir and husband Wonest, Sr. of Cade; brother, Wilbert Bourda of Houston; 26 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; and 24 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Etienne Bourda; father, Charles Bourda, Sr.; mother, Anna Gardener Bourda; sister, Thelma Ozenne; brothers, Allen Bourda, Charles Bourda, Jr., and Louis Bourda. Pallbearers will be Sandy Bourda, Jr., Neil Bourda, Wonest Decuir, Jr., Homer Decuir, Sr., Lawrence Alexander, Jr., and Kevin Alexander, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Sandy Bourda Sr., Christopher Bourda, Leward Bourda Sr., George Bourda Jr., Lindsay Bourda Sr., John Pierre, and Wonest Decuir, Sr.
