George Anthony Gentile

Broussard - A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Our Savior's Church in Broussard, for George Anthony Gentile, 73, who passed away on Monday, April 6, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. A Gathering of Remembrance will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Gentile honorably served his country in the United States Navy from September 8, 1954 until his discharge on September 9, 1959. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include two sons, Steven Louis Gentile and his wife, Jennie, of Prairieville, and Ricky Lee and his wife, Debbie, of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Jeannie Marie Thornton and her companion, Tommy, of Shreveport, and Candy Gentile Bertrand and her husband, James, of St. Martinville; two brothers, Henry "H.J." Gentile, Jr., of Clinton, and James "Stick" Gentile, of Baton Rouge; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Gentile, Sr. and Earline Burke Gentile. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge, (337.332.2111) is in charge of arrangements.
