George Willard Vest

Breaux Bridge - A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 8, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for George Willard Vest, 90, who passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at his residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday. Pastor Rob Bordeaux will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. George was a member of the American Legion and the Baptist Church, both in Cecilia. He honorably served our country in the Korean war and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Maggie Richard Vest; sons, Howard Vest and wife Donna, Denny Jones, David Jones, all of Gonzales, and Brian Alleman of Breaux Bridge; daughters, Tracie Vest Andrews of Gonzales, and Lora Blankenship of Munford, AL; sister, Vern Wray of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Adam, Bethany, Julia, Thomas, and Daniel; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Eula Childers Vest. Pallbearers will be Howard Vest, Denny Jones, David Jones, Adam Vest, Brian Alleman, Carroll Comb, Daniel Andrews, and Thomas Andrews.
