Georgean Babin

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am , on Monday, November 12, 2012 , at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Georgean Angelle Babin, 73, who passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 . The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday November 11, 2012 and continue at 7:00 am until 9:30 am on Monday at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Fr. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Kristi Babin and Holli Babin. Gift Bearers will be Billy Babin, Gena Babin, Jy Babin, Briss Latiolais, and Caine Latiolais. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Georgean retired with the St. Martin Parish Clerk of Court with 25 years of service. ; Georgean enjoyed gardening and cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends, especially during her favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. Georgean cherished the time that she spent with her dog, Rosie. She also enjoyed praying the rosary, going to church, blessing the motorcycles before an afternoon ride and her children before taking ;trips. She had a great sense of humor and knew how to light up a room with jokes. She is survived by her husband, Roland J. Babin of Saint Martinville; her sons, Dirk (Margot) Babin, Darren (Shari) Babin, Dale (Gavin Welch) Babin; her daughter, Dain B. (Aaron) Latiolais; her brother, Glenn (Sandi) Angelle; 10 grandchildren, Kristi Babin, Billy Babin, Holli Babin, Jy Babin, Gena Babin, Briss Latiolais Caine Latiolais, Kacie LeBlanc, Jenna LeBlanc and Mattie Frederick; 5 great grandchildren, Parker Thomas, Trae LeBlanc, Mason LeBlanc, Graham LeBlanc and Aynsli Guilbeau. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucier J. and Lorena Gonsoulin Angelle; and an infant daughter, Deidre Babin. Pallbearers will be Billy Babin, Kristi Babin, Holli Babin, Jy Babin, Briss Latiolais, Gena Babin, and Caine Latiolais. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mattie Frederick, ;Kacie LeBlanc and Jenna LeBlanc. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
