Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Georgia Ann Landry Tauzin, 70, who passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at her residence.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.
Fr. Louis Allen Breaux will conduct the funeral service.
Georgia was born and raised in Lafayette and attended school at Mount Carmel and Spencer Business College. She was a wonderful seamstress having worked in the fabric industry for 35 years; working at Colonial Fabrics in Breaux Bridge, and Kathryn's Fabric in Lafayette. Georgia was an independent woman and was very meticulous about her yard, always making sure that it was well kept. She enjoyed spending time with her family and preparing meals for family gatherings.
Survivors include one son, Kernel Tauzin and his wife, Janice, of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Donna Robin and her husband, Mike, of St. Martinville, and Nannette Neel and her husband, Sammy, of Toledo Bend, TX; four half-brothers, Jerry Landry and his wife, Sandi, of New Iberia, Carol Landry, of Baton Rouge, Johnny Landry, of Alexandria, and Michael Landry, of Baton Rouge; two half-sisters, Gail Landry, of Colorado, and Debbie LeBlanc, of Broussard; one granddaughter, April Lynn Tauzin, of Hawaii; and several step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman "Nanu" Tauzin; and her parents, Wilson P. and Georgia Marie Webb Landry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday and continue at 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Kernel Tauzin, Sammy Neel, Jerry Landry, Lloyd Tauzin, Eddie Olivier, and Hershell Neel.
