A native of Lawtell and a resident of Coteau, Gerald P. Frugé was born on May 29, 1957 to the late Louis and Joyce Rachal Frugé. He built homes for a living, then worked for Baker Hughes for 15 years. An avid Saints fan who had a passion for antique hot rods, Mr. Frugé was very handy and a “Jack of all trades.” He was a giver by nature; he loved to help people and volunteer his time to those in need. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and a very special baby brother to his brothers and sisters. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. Frugé is survived by his loving wife of nearly 43 years, Marilyn Broussard Frugé of Coteau; sons, Gerald (wife Maria) Frugé, Jr. of Nicaragua, Lawrence (wife Melinda) Frugé of Moss Bluff, LA, and Marcus West of Kinder; siblings, Kathleen (husband Ronald) Saizon of New Roads, Londa Dalcour of Opelousas, Gwendolyn Barnes of Opelousas, Alywin (wife Cheryl) Frugé of Branch, Wayne (companion Kathy) Frugé of Opelousas, Marolyn Dalcour of New Roads; Cothelia Frugé of Lawtell, and Gregory Broussard of Jeanerette; and five grandchildren, Lucas Frugé, Levi Frugé, Liana Frugé, Wyatt Frugé, and Scarlett Frugé.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Frugé; his niece and godchild, Clarice Guillory; a sister-in-law, Janelle Frugé; and two brothers-in-law, Jules Dalcour and Morris Barnes.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Frugé, Jr., Lawrence Frugé, Wayne Frugé, Alywin Frugé, Marcus West and Erik Lundberg.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons, Lucas, Wyatt and Levi Frugé.
