Geraldine Marie Berard

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Geraldine Marie Berard, 90, who passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until service time on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Michael Sucharski will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Geraldine was a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church, where she attended her Masses weekly. She enjoyed cooking, walking, dancing, playing cards, joking, talking on the phone, and entertaining family and friends while using her favorite saying "Stop the Madness!". She is survived by her loving sons, Shedrick Berard, Sr. and wife Catherine of St. Martinville, and James Berard and wife Darlene of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Gadius Charles, Sr., Tedtra Johnson, Brand'e Berard, Jeremie Francis, Monique Alfonso, Shedrick Berard, Jr., Nicholas Berard; step grandchildren, Terry Batiste, Jr., Brandon Constantine, Bryson Constantine, Jeffery Batiste, Sr., Cindy Batiste; great grandchildren, Cherrell Charles, Jusius John James Charles, Matt Johnson, Nasir Nelson, Trent Francis, Elizabeth Berard, Itian Johnson, Bri'an Berard and Gadius Charles, Jr.; step-great grandchildren, Kameron Charles, Aaron Fransico, Jeffery Batiste, Jr., Khloie Batiste, Jayshaun Batiste, Sage Batiste Demonte Williams; great-great grandchildren, Ireion Johnson and Majour Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Stella Berard; step-grandson, Braylon Batiste; and brothers, Marshall Berard and Wallace Berard. Pallbearers will be Shedrick Berard, Jr., Jeremie Francis, Brand'e Berard, Gadius Charles, Sr., Bryson Constantine, and Travell Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be James Brown, Henry Anderson, Wallace Berard, Jr., Tori Berard, Ricky Coxeff, and Ronald Louis. Pellerin Funeral Home (337.332.2111) is in charge of arrangements.
