Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Geraldine "Geri" Goodie, 64, who passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at her home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. Ugochukwu Jerome Cletus, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reader will be Stacey Babineaux Daigle. Gift bearers will be Jared Goodie, II, and Jarden Goodie.
Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia.
Geraldine, better known as "Geri" was born in Lafayette, Louisiana to the late Alroynest and Agnes Calais Ames. Geri was Licensed Practical Nurse, and her hobbies included, watching movies, listening to music, talking on the phone, and navigating the internet and social media on her computer. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Geri will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher R. Goodie, Kevin L. Goodie and wife Tamra, Demetrius L. Goodie, Jared N. Goodie and wife Kenya, and Mackenzie T. Simpson; brothers, Joseph Ames and wife Estella, and Ronnie Calais; sister, Octavia Calais; sister-in-law, Gloria Ames; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Goodie; father, Alroynest Ames; mother, Agnes Calais Ames; brother, John Alvin Ames; sister, Linda Ames; granddaughter, Kaylen Goodie; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Christopher R. Goodie, Kevin L. Goodie, Demetrius L. Goodie, Jared N. Goodie, Mackenzie T. Simpson, and Ronnie Calais.
