Gerdie L. Angelle

Breaux Bridge- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Gerdie L. Angelle, 97, who passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at AMG Specialty Hospital. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until service time.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Thursday. 

Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Jamie Angelle and Alexandra Angelle. Gift bearers will be Ali Alsup and Kayleigh Angelle.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. 

Gerdie was born on October 23, 1926, in Breaux Bridge.  Gerdie enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and making ceramic dolls. She was also an active part of the Crawfish Festival Association in its early days.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Darlene) Angelle, Errol Bryan Angelle, and Guy (Donnell) Angelle; brother, Berley Latiolais; sister, Shirley (John) LaFleur; grandchildren, Shawn Angelle, Jamie Angelle, Ali Alsup, Kayleigh Angelle, Jillian A. Armand, Alexandra Angelle, Carson Angelle and Tera Simon; and 19 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her spouse, Robert "Robe" Angelle; parents, Antoine and Bridgette Latiolais; sister, Lona (Ames) Guidry; and her sister-in-law, Beatrice Latiolais. 
 
Pallbearers will be Shawn Angelle, Carson Angelle, Thomas Latiolais, Bucky Guidry, John LeFleur, and Jamie Angelle.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to AMG Specialty Hospital, J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home, and her caregivers, Bonnie Usie, Lorraine Fitch, and Gertie Wiltz for the compassionate and wonderful care given.
