Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Gilbert Lewis, Sr., 55, who passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. He is survived by his loving spouse, Sarah Ann Alexander Lewis; sons, Joshua Crandal Lewis and wife Candace JB, Shelby Antoine Lewis and wife Teanisha W., Kendall James Lewis, Gilbert Lewis, Jr. and wife Miranda B.; daughter, Marchelle Lewis; brothers, Henry Lewis, Jr. and wife Mary T., Shelton Lewis, Samuel Lewis and wife Mary Ella; sisters, Mary Alice Lewis, Anna Mae Lewis, Mary Agnes Lewis Fontenette, Amy Batiste and husband Otis, Mary Jane Lewis and companion, Roland Fontenette, Mary Lee Ledet and husband Herman; 11 grandchildren, Malchi, Keighan, Kendalynn, Chole, Alli, Bronson, Jailee, Jhania, Jakerrick, Kylie, and Tiereny. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lewis, Sr.; mother, Anna Louise Lewis; brothers, Wilbert Lewis, Sr., and Homer Lewis; sister, Mary Lou Davis; and grandchild, Jansen Lewis. Pallbearers will be Edward Fontenette Jr., Edward Charles, Ricky Alexander, Steven Francis, Wilfred Roberts and Cody Lee Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Crandal Lewis, Shelby Antoine Lewis, Kendall James Lewis, Gilbert Lewis Jr., Henry Lewis Jr., Shelton Lewis, Samuel Lewis, Marcus Lewis, Otis Batiste, Roger Fontenette and Herman Ledet.
