New Iberia ;- Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Gilcey Paul Theriot, Sr, 84, who passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 in New Iberia. ; Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. ; Rev. Blaine Clement will officiate. ; Born on April 10, 1925 in New Iberia, Mr. Theriot worked for 32 years as a diesel mechanic at the Jefferson Island Salt Mine, and proudly served our country in the US Army, during World War II. He loved animals, and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and going to the casino. ; Survivors include his sons, Gilcey Paul Theriot, Jr. of New Iberia, Gilbert Theriot of New Iberia; daughters, Debra Aucoin of New Iberia, Dacie Theriot Babineaux and husband Matthew of Youngsville, Darla Delcambre and husband Kaylor of New Iberia, Dena Theriot of New Iberia; grandchildren, Kelly Delcambre, Katie Kerrigan, and Kylan Theriot. ; He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Edler Theriot; parents, Etienne and Constance Delahoussaye Theriot; sisters, Emma Larkin, Beatrice Fontenot, Carmen McFarland; brothers, Etinne "Put" Theriot, Jr., Claude Theriot, Buster Theriot, Ventress "Balou" Theriot, Reed Theriot, Noson Theriot, and his twin brother, Gilbert Theriot. ; Pallbearers will be Matt Babineaux, Kaylor Delcambre, Cedric Fontenot, Lavonia Theriot, Mickey Lanclos, and Robert Edler, Jr. ; Honorary pallbearers include Todd Fontenot, Kelly Delcambre, Leroy Theriot, Noson Fontenot, James Lanclos, and Robert Theriot. ; The family would like to give special thanks to all of Mr. Theriot's caregivers. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Tuesday.
