Gladys Babineaux

Cecilia - Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Gladys Marie Babineaux, 92, our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Gladys Babineaux was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana on January 3, 1916 to the late Marie Louise Ledet and Emile Babin. She was the last living sibling of two brothers, Armond Thibodeaux and Wilfred Ledet , and two sisters, Clementine Celestine and Della Fontenette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Clifton Babineaux, a son, Joseph Ashton Babineaux, Sr., two grandchildren, Allen Drake and George Provost, and two great grandchildren, Chantel Richard and Jason Provost. She leaves to cherish her memories by her beloved children: Anna Bell Drake (Johnny, d.); Emma Lee Provost (Sherman); Joseph Eazly Babineaux, Sr. (Dorothy); Joseph Hurley Babineaux, Sr. (Nadine); Anna Lou Rachal (Patrick); Anna Mae Smith (James); Joseph Gerald Babineaux, Jr.(fiancee, Carolyn); Anna Jean LeBlanc (Linton); daughter-in-law, Vesta Babineaux; her thirty-four grandchildren; seventy-four great grandchildren; and thirty-five great, great grandchildren. A wake service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 15, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and continue on Saturday at 8 AM until 10:15 AM. Pellerin Funeral Home of Carver and Dauterive Street are in charge of arrangements.
