Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Gladys Pichoff Collins, 92, who passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:30 am until 10:30 am on Saturday. A eulogy will be given by Brian Kinchen at 10:15 am.
Reverend Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. The soloist will be Rita Pruitt.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.
Gladys was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Murray and Genevieve Blanchard Pichoff on June 3, 1925. She became a resident of Breaux Bridge, LA in 2001. Gladys enjoyed gardening, card-playing, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving spouse of 50 years, Felton G. Collins; children, Lynda Commagere Wirt, Darlene Heitmeier Richard and spouse Steve, and Randall Scott Nemeth and spouse Monique; grandchildren, Lisa Katherine Commagere, Lori Commagere Kinchen and spouse Brian, Tara Lynn Wirt, Erik C. Heitmeier, Amy Heitmeier Hebert and spouse Brent, Brandon Heitmeier and spouse April, Randall S. Nemeth, Jr., Michael-Todd Nemeth, and Hayley E. Nemeth; great-grandchildren, Mason Hebert, Cullen Hebert, Austin Kinchen and spouse Abigail, Hunter Kinchen and spouse Lauren, Logan Kinchen, McKane Kinchen, Hailey Heitmeier, Chloe Heitmeier, Lexi Hebert, Cade Hebert, Cole Hebert, Hayden Heitmeier, Jase Heitmeier, Hannah Heitmeier, Victoria Nemeth, and Alexander Nemeth; great-great grandchildren, Hayden Hebert, Cecilia Kinchen, Marcelle Kinchen, Remi Lynn Kinchen, Laurel Kinchen, and Christian Hebert; and her sister, Shirley Pichoff Maurer and husband Leon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murray F. and Genevieve Blanchard Pichoff; brothers, Bruce E. Pichoff and Murray F. Pichoff; and stepsons, Eddy and Donald Collins.
Pallbearers will be Austin Kinchen, Hunter Kinchen, Logan Kinchen, McKane Kinchen, Mason Hebert, and Cullen Hebert.
The family would like to thank Hospice workers, Shannon and Rose, for their love and care during this difficult time.
