Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 8, 2008 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Gladys Marie Dauterive, 97, who passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.
Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 1, in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Paul J. LaFleur, pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services.
Miss Dauterive graduated from St. Bernard Convent. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a member of the St. Bernard Church Altar Society. She worked in Shreveport as a clerical government worker and returned to Breaux Bridge where she worked at Dauterive Motors and Hebert's Creamery.
Miss Dauterive is the last survivor of her immediate family. Her parents were Decomine J. Dauterive and Claire Amy Dauterive. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Claude, Francis and Lewis Dauterive; her three sisters, Evelyn D. Begnaud, Carmen D. Chauffe, and Marie Claire Bourque; four half-sisters, Mrs. Leo Billeaud, Mrs. Henry Domengeaux, Mrs. Louis Benningsdorf, and Mrs. Sidney Boutte; and three half-brothers, Milton Dauterive, Sidney Dauterive, and Dr. A. J. Dauterive.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from7:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2008.
A rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
The family would like to thank Journey Hospice and the St. Martinville, Nursing Home, nurses and staff for the excellent care she received there in the last years of her life. Also special thanks to her niece Marilyn Laperouse and good friend Bertha Willis.
