Arnaudville, Louisiana - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, October 12, 2009, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Gladys Mayeaux Gautreaux, 88, who passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Patients Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Reverend Keenan Brown will officiate at the funeral Mass. The reader will be Jancy Doucet.
Born on March 10, 1921, Gladys was the daughter of Clifton and Edwina Villemarette Mayeaux. Gladys graduated in 1939 from Hessmer High School in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. She passed away peacefully after a courageous battle of Lewybody Syndrome for the past 5 years.
Milton would like to thank her caregivers, Vera Davilla, Carol Gamble, Lamar Guerro, and Cree James, for their care and compassion during her illness. Also, a special thank you goes out to our friends, Harold and Betty Allen, for their unconditional love and support throughout the years.
Gladys is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Milton "Joe" Gautreaux, of Pasadena, Texas; as well as, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Edwina Villemarette Mayeaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Kilpatrick Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 334 Acton Rd., Marksville, Louisiana, 71351 on Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 4 p.m. until 12 a.m. on Sunday; and continue at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville, Louisiana, on Sunday, October 11, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. until time 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
