Gladys Guidry

Arnaudville- Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m., on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Gladys Vitte Guidry, 86, who passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Fr. Keenan Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Gift Bearers will be Cale and Marilyn Dor. Entombment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum. Mrs. Guidry was retired after working for 32 years as a nurse for Drs. Robert Morrow and Earl Morrogh. She was well known as a compassionate and devoted caregiver, who always put others needs before her own. Survivors include her husband, Walter Guidry; her daughter, Marilyn Guidry Dor and her husband, Ronnie; her grandson, Cale Dor and his wife, Diana; two great granddaughters; and two sisters, Bernice V. Knott and Hazel V. Guidry. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny W. Guidry; her parents, Jules and Vaniola LaGrange Vitte; her brother, Homer Vitte, Sr.; and her sister, Eula Mae Vitte Quebedeaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday.
