Gladys Reese Lewis

Cecilia A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am, on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Gladys Reese Lewis, 98, who passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 7:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited Saturday morning. Rev. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Service. Reading the scriptures will be Curtis Lewis and Wanda Calais. Serving as gift bearers will be Martika Calais and Christopher Lewis. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Womens Society of St Rose of Lima in Cecilia and a former member of the Ladies Altar Society. She retired from the St. Martin Parish School Board after 10 years of service. She is survived by her sons, Herman J. (Vergie) Lewis of Cecilia, Johnny J. Lewis of Houston, TX, Bradley (Jill) Lewis of Houston, TX, and Larry J. (Sylvia) Lewis of Cecilia; her step son, Melvin (Lois) Lewis of Breaux Bridge; her daughters, Mary B. (Nick) Arso of Houston, TX, and Louella B. Charles of Arnaudville; her step daughter, Lou Velma Lewis of Breaux Bridge; 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Lewis, Sr., her parents, John and Julianne Jones Reese, 2 brothers, 5 sisters, a grandchild, Alton Celestine and her son-in-law, Rufus Charles. Pallbearers will be Ryan Calais, Kenneth Lewis, Mark Lewis, Christopher Lewis, Raynard Richards and Curtis Lewis.
