Jeanerette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette for Gladys Provost Rader, 91 who died Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Lafayette . Entombment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, in Patoutville. Rev. Dismas Mauk, SVD will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Tiffany Collins, and Lisa Rader; Gift Bearers include Mrs. Rader's grandchildren. Born on July 31, 1920 in Jeanerette, Mrs. Rader was retired from the Iberia Parish School Board, and was very active in her church, as a CCD teacher, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and singing in the church choir. She enjoyed working with ceramics, gardening, cooking, watching EWTN, and listening to the music of Prince. Survivors include her children, Barbara Catalan and husband Millon of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Betty Tauriac and husband John Winston, Sr. of New Iberia, Rudy Rader of Fort Worth, Texas, Russell Rader and wife Patrice of Luling, Elaine Wilson of Jeanerette, Larry Rader and wife Marlya of New Iberia, Suzanne Collins and husband Russell of Grand Marais, Patrick Rader of the Bay Area, California; brother, Alex Lovette, Jr. and wife Bessie of Jeanerette; sister, Audrey Thymes of Houston; 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Aubrey J. 'Pete' Rader; parents, Johnny Provost and Celeste Lovette; step father, Alex Lovette, Sr.; brother, Henry 'Dago' Lovette; sister, Lorraine Johnson; son-in-law, Douglas P. Wilson; brothers-in-law; Josh Thymes, Ernest 'Choke' Johnson, and Fred George Rader. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Rader's grandsons. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Maison de Lafayette, and to Mrs. Rader's caregivers, Andrea Harrison and Heather Crain. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 8 AM until 10:15 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM .
