Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. , on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 , at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge , for Glenda Nell Champagne, 71, who passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Lafayette . Rev. ;Donald Pousson ;will conduct the services. Readers will be her godchildren, Sally Degeyter Champagne and Stacey Degeyter Westbrook. Gift Bearers will be her grandchildren, Heidi Champagne and Selena Mouton. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge . Glenda Nell was a mother who loved her kids and a grandmother who loved her grandchildren very much. Survivors include her sons, Christopher J. Dejean, Jr., Audie J. Dejean, and Shane D. Champagne; her daughters, Cheryl Dejean Martinez, Seglenda Champagne Mouton, and Ashley Poche Sinitiere; her brothers, Melvin Wayne Rivers and Donald Rivers; her sister, Elaine Rivers Duplechain; her 17 grandchildren; and her 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Gladys Toby Rivers ; her 1st husband, Christopher J. Dejean, Sr.; her 2nd husband, Allen E. Champagne; her sisters, Margie Rivers Degeyter and Sara Jane Rivers; and her 2 grandchildren, Mitchel Dejean and baby granddaughter. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8 a .m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening. Pallbearers will be Chris Dejean, Audie Dejean, Shane D. Champagne, Cheryl Dejean Martinez, Seglenda Champagne Mouton, and Ashley Poche Sinitiere. Honorary pallbearers will be Roland Mouton, Melissa Dejean Gotch, Stephanie Dejean Reed, Homer Martinez, Krystal Breaux Champagne , Shane Smith, Jr., and Lloyd Degeyter, Jr. A special thanks to Audie for taking me in and to Linda Dejean for the courage to take such good care of me.
