New Iberia - A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 13, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church ;in New Iberia, for Glenda Faye Giroir Schovajsa, 67, who died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Baton Rouge. Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant. Additional memorial services were at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church, in Lafayette, with Pastor Sam McPeek officiating. A native of New Iberia, Faye was born on October 19, 1945, and was a graduate of Mt. Carmel in New Iberia. She had previously worked for WKM, Joy Industries, Cooper Industries, Cameron Iron Works, Wood-Group, Inc., Ingram-Cactus Industries, and G.E., Inc., and was a member of the New Iberia VFW Auxiliary Post 1982. Her hobbies included reading, solving crossword puzzles, and playing card games, however Fayes greatest pleasure was cooking and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Bennie Lenorad Schovajsa of New Iberia; step daughter, Dee Ann Adams and husband Brian of Conroe, Texas; step son, B.J. Schovajsa and wife Nita of Tomball, Texas; brother, Steven Michael 'Mike' Boudreaux of Franklin; sister, Patricia G. Kuebler of Bowling Green, Kentucky; grandchildren, Alex, Aaron, and Andrew Grisiaffi; step granddaughter, Heather Schovajsa of Tomball, Texas; step great granddaughter, Khina Schovajsa of Tomball, Texas; Great grandson, Alex Grisiaffi of Jeanerette. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Grisiaffi; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Beverley Boudreaux; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Coullard; and her father, Kirby Giroir.
