Jeanerette- Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 2, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Glenn Clarence Thibodaux, 63, who died on Monday, October 29, 2012, in Houston after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Entombment will follow in the Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette with military honors by the New Iberia VFW Post 1982. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A Masonic service will be at 6:00 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Born on September 1, 1949, Glenn was a big man with an equally big heart. He played football at both Franklin High School, and USL, where he was majoring in engineering, when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. While proudly serving our country in Vietnam, Glenn received several medals of honor and was recognized as 'Soldier of the Month'. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, the Jeanerette Masonic Lodge No. 255, and worked as a welder for Transocean. A loyal and devoted husband, Glenn was also a wonderful father who believed in family bonding. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke and tease with everyone. His love of music was evident in his knowledge of song titles and artists. This love for music appears to have carried over to his children, Caroline and Ty. Glenn was an awesome cook. Friends and family loved to gather on Saturday mornings for his famous 'melt in your mouth' homemade biscuits and coffee, He was well loved by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Angela Glaubrecht Thibodaux of Jeanerette; children, Caroline Nicole Thibodaux and Ty Joseph Thibodaux both of Jeanerette, Skylar James Thibodaux of Lake Charles, Danielle Renee Ward and husband Scott of Abbeville; brothers, Milton John Thibodeaux and wife Janet of Searcy, Arkansas, Albert Emile Thibodaux and wife Loraine of Franklin, Greg Paul Thibodaux and wife Cindy of Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy G. Thibodaux and wife Faith of Franklin; sister, Jeannine Thibodaux Bertrand and husband Alex of Franklin; grandchildren, Tyler James Thibodaux, Shylyn Ward, Ashlyn Ward; mother-in-law, Irma Glaubrecht of Jeanerette; brother-in-law, Richard Joseph Glaubrecht, Jr. and wife Mary of Jeanerette; extended family, Micha Romero of New Iberia, Dee Babineaux and husband Kenny of New Iberia, Henry Primeaux of Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton John Thibodaux, and Joyce Hebert Thibodaux; and his father-in-law, Richard Joseph Glaubrecht, Sr. Pallbearers will be Tyler James Thibodaux, Richard Joseph Glaubrecht, Jr., Micah 'Flash' Romero, Dee Babineaux, Albert Emile Thibodaux, and Greg Thibodaux. Honorary pallbearers include Milton John Thibodaux, Jr., and Timothy Gerard Thibodaux.
