St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Union Baptist Church in St. Martinville for Gloria James, 81, who passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Union Baptist Cemetery in St. Martinville. She is survived by her grandchild, Gloricika Johnson of St. Martinville; three great grandchildren, Kayson Holmes, Carter Holmes and Lillianna Holmes. She was preceded in death by her father, Morris James; mother, Lena James; daughter, Sharkita Ann Johnson; five sisters, Edna Orphe, Verna Lewis, Mecora Fontenette, Gloria Mae Delcourt and Rose Mae James.
