A resident of New Iberia, Gloria Jean Smith Prince Johnson was born in New Orleans on March 5, 1941. Better known as "Mama Glo," she was a strong willed, strong bodied and big hearted woman. She was a caregiver most of her life to many folks who deeply loved her. She came from a large family (20 children), and her caregiving started with her siblings and parents who called her Mama' Smith. She gave her heart to many with no questions, and she also said what was on her mind. She was repeat, strong willed as many of us know, but her intention was that everyone taken care of with a humble heart. We feel a deep void in our hearts, but we know she was promoted to God's Kingdom, received her inheritance from the Lord Almighty, and forever will touch us in her own way. Enjoy glory, Mama Glo! We love you.
