Gloria Marie Halphen Sheppard

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, September 28, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Gloria Marie Halphen Sheppard, 87, who passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am on Friday. Fr. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Gloria retired from Louisiana School for the Deaf and was a member of Baton Rouge Association of the Deaf. She loved her family, enjoyed cooking, sewing, and helping children. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Johnston, Gwendolyn Gary and husband Perry, and Denise Delahoussaye and husband Phil; son, Bobby Sheppard, Jr. and wife Kattie; grandchildren, Brei Ann Delahoussaye, Chelsea Lynn Carter, and Miguel Angel Sheppard; sisters, Rita Shobe, Theresa Leon, Goldie "Dinky" Gilson, Ramona Cole, Sandra Guillotte, and Barbara Fuselier. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bobby Sheppard, Sr.; father, Fabio Halphen, Sr.; mother, Louise Christine Fuselier Halphen; 8 brothers; and 6 sisters. Pallbearers will be Chris Halphen, Eugene Halphen, Glen Guillot, Perry Gary, Will White, and Bobby Sheppard. Honorary pallbearer will be Phil Delahoussaye.
