Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Gloria Royer Theriot, 80, who died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Allen ?Breaux will conduct the funeral service. Mrs. Theriot was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 133, in Breaux Bridge. She was First Lady of Breaux Bridge to Mayor Vance Theriot during his 9 ? ?years of service. She loved to crochet and read literature. She fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. Gloria will be greatly missed by her loved ones, especially on her upcoming birthday on the 25th of May. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Vance Theriot; two sisters, Bessie R. Muirhead of Lafayette, and Linda R. Breaux and her husband, Herby Breaux of Judice; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominique and Philomene Babineaux Royer. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm on Thursday, ?May 17, 2007 ?and continue at 8:00 am on Friday, May 18, 2007 until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be Robert Laville, Sr., Dr. Robert Laville, Jr., Dr. Matthew Mitchell, Bryan Muirhead, Herby Breaux, and Lt. Dan Gaskins. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Muirhead, Sr., Don Lavasseuer, and Wilton Cormier. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
