New Iberia - A Funeral Requiem Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Glyn Allen Richie, Sr., 69, who went home to be with his Lord on Monday, January 9, 2017. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Father Francis Miller OFM will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 PM. A longtime resident of Coteau, Mr. Richie was born on August 19, 1947 in Ouachita Parish, and is a retired truck driver. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, going to the casino, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his sons, Glyn Richie, Jr. and wife Sherry of New Iberia, Kevin Richie of New Iberia, Christopher Richie of New Iberia, Douglas Richie, Sr. and wife Deborah of Pollock; daughter, Shannon Provost of New Iberia; step daughter, Tonya Trahan of Pollock; stepson, Charlie Waler of Pollock; grandchildren, Brandon Romero, Chaz Provost, Joshua Richie and fiance' Jaclyn, Jenna Richie, Abbigail Richie, Maddison Richie, Erica Nugent, Chelsea Cork, Cody Cork, Brittany Larue, Douglas Richie, Jr.; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Richie of TX, Travis Richie of TX, Milton Richie of TX; numerous nieces, nephews, & friends; and two special little angels, Sierra and Sienna Horton, who he dearly adored and loved. He will also be sadly missed by his dear friend and former wife, Pamela Smith Jude of New Iberia. Standing at the gates of heaven with open arms are his daughters, Ruth Richie and Amanda Eustace; parents, Clay Richie, Sr. and Mary Alice Dricol; brothers, Clifton Richie, Sr., Clay Richie, Jr., and Melvin Richie; sisters, Jean Noble, Barbara Leone, Margaret Lanier, Gail White, Birdie Leone, and Helen McClane. Pallbearers will be Glyn Richie Jr., Kevin Richie, Douglas Richie Sr., Christopher Richie, Brandon Romero, and Chaz Provost. Honorary pallbearers include Joshua Richie, Douglas Richie Jr., and Charles Waler. The family would like to give special thanks to Community Hospice and his caregiver, Angelique Hulin, for their care and support.
