Gordon M. Millet New Iberia - Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 pm, on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Rosehill Cemetery in New Iberia, for Gordon M. Millet, 84, who passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016, in New Iberia. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, August 26, and continue on Saturday, August 27, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 PM Saturday. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in New Iberia. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a longtime resident of New Iberia, Gordon M. Millet was born in Houma, LA on January 12, 1932, to the late Gordon "Pee Wee" Millet and Blanche St. Martin Millet. He was a graduate of New Iberia High School, Tulane, and U.L.L., and proudly served our country in the U.S. Army as a Captain during the Korean Conflict. He was the President and Owner of G.Y. Millet, Inc. Mr. Millet was on the Local and State Boards of Directors of Chase Bank, and President of Indian Ridge, A. St. Martin Company, and New Iberia Golf and Country Club. He was also on the Board of Directors of Dauterive Hospital and U.L. Research Center. Mr. Millet is survived by his wife of 59 years, Diane Taylor Millet; two daughters, Dionne Millet Savoy and husband Bryan Savoy, and Susanne Millet Hall and husband Steven E. Hall; two grandsons, Dr. Christopher B. Savoy and wife Meaghan M. Savoy, and Brandon M. Savoy; and a granddaughter, Caroline N. Geldart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Vernon Taylor, and mother-in-law, Josie G. Taylor. Pallbearers will be Steven E. Hall, J. Bryan Savoy, Christopher B. Savoy, Brandon M. Savoy, Nathan "Spot" Viator, Ryan Thalji, and Donald Mathis Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., #200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
