Grace Durand Bienvenu

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Grace Durand Bienvenu, 98, who passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Anne LeBlanc and Carole Duplantis. Gift bearers will be Dawn Kidder and Jerri Bienvenu. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Grace was born August 9, 1919 in St. Martinville. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was her family's "Amazing Grace." Grace enjoyed baking, sewing, and playing Scrabble. For holidays, she loved to cook when all her family was together. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her sons, Glenn L. Bienvenu and wife Geraldine, Michael Bienvenu and wife Betty, and Daniel Bienvenu; daughters, Carole Duplantis and husband Jerry, and Anne LeBlanc; brother, Larry Durand; sisters, Emmalina Wetzel, Rita Voorhies, and Doris Zappi; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ludger James Bienvenu; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Tommy Reid; parents, Leonce and Louella Wiltz Durand, Sr.; brother, Leonce Durand, Jr.; sisters, Melba Duchamp, Frances Landman, Marie Gahn, Louella Durand, and Celine Willis; son-in-law, Terry LeBlanc; daughter-in-law, Genevieve Bienvenu; and great grandson, Tyler Sapp. Pallbearers will be Jerry Duplantis, Kevin LeBlanc, Ryan Bienvenu, Glenn J.
