New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 24, 2019, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Grace Elizabeth Gonsoulin, 17, who passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019.
Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Nicholas DuPre’ will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 9:00 am until 1:15 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:15 am on Friday.
A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Grace was born on February 28, 2002, and was a student at Catholic High, Class of 2020. She was a member of the 4H Club and a former manager of the Catholic High Softball Team. Grace enjoyed singing, dancing, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends, especially watching her boyfriend Layton play sports.
Survivors include her parents, Keith and Michelle Mitchell Gonsoulin of New Iberia, LA; brother, Cameron Paul Gonsoulin and wife Hunter of Youngsville; sister, Kathryn Gonsoulin and boyfriend Charlie Gaspard of New Iberia; grandparents, William and Kathy Mitchell of New Iberia, Daniel and Jeanette Gonsoulin of New Iberia; uncles, Bryan Mitchell and wife Maria of New Iberia, Craig Mitchell of Oklahoma, Ricky Gonsoulin and wife Roni Laine of New Iberia; aunt, Aimee Power and husband Stephen of Youngsville; boyfriend, Layton Berard of Breaux Bridge; godfather and cousin, Ridge Gonsoulin and wife Brittany; cousins, Rhett Gonsoulin, Riley Gonsoulin and boyfriend Jack Harrelson, William Power, Westin Power, Bryan Mitchell, II, Leonardo Duque, and Trey McGowen; godmother, Shantell Gomez; several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Gaspard, Ricky Gonsoulin, Ridge Gonsoulin, Rhett Gonsoulin, Bryan Mitchell, and Shannon Pecot.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Gonsoulin, Layton Berard, Stephen Power, and Creig Fowler.
