Grace Hebert

September 20, 1921 — April 13, 2006

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2006, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Grace Champagne Hebert, 84, who died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at her residence in St. Martinville. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Mrs. Grace worked for the St. Martin Parish School System for 32 years and for the Evangeline Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. She was the heart and soul of the Evangeline Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include her son, Thomas ""Tommy"" Hebert and his wife, Glenda D. Hebert of Cypress Island; her grandchildren, Monique H. Martin and her husband, Matthew, Thomas ""Tommy"" Hebert, Jr., and his wife Miranda B. Hebert and Joshua David Hebert; and her great grandchildren, Hannah and Jude Martin and Gabrielle and Mary Grace Hebert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Hebert; her parents, Adeo and Eloise Gauthier Champagne; her sister, Ruth Champagne Landry; and her brother, Patrick Champagne. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 p.m. ~ 10:00 pm. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Kirk Lasseigne, Mark Breaux, Ken Guidry, Kelvin Laviolette, Roland Guillott, and Byron Fuselier. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Rainey and the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes and Jackie and Racquel with Southern Care Hospice. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
