Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 18, 2019, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Grace Webre Olivier, 96, who passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at her residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until 1:30 pm.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Sunday.
Rev. Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Joy Pisani and Amy Williams. Gift Bearers will be Lea Guidry, Melissa Olivier, and Paige Olivier.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Grace was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and a local quilting club. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, going to the camp, working in her yard, and having her family over for gatherings. Grace will be remembered for her kindness and the help she always offered to anyone in need.
She is survived by her sons, Lynn Olivier and wife Mott of Carencro and Gary Olivier and wife Tenley of Arnaudville; daughters, Ann Taylor and husband Wilson of Arnaudville and Nell Guidry and husband Timmy of Arnaudville; daughter-in-law, Betty Olivier of Carencro; sister, Marie W. Marks of Arnaudville; 20 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 73 years, Lloyd George Olivier; parents, Maurice and Cora Willis Webre; sons, Edwin "Ed" Olivier, Alex Olivier; great grandsons, Dylan Taylor and David Ashy; brothers, Lester, Jim, Paul and Leon Webre; an infant son, Michael Olivier; father-in-law, Clebert Olivier; mother-in-law, Lillian Knott Olivier; daughter-in-law, Betty O. Vaughn and husband, Albert Vaughn; and Earl and Donald Olivier, who she helped raise and loved as her own.
Pallbearers will be Todd Taylor, Chad Taylor, Jared Olivier, Marty Olivier, Mark Guidry, Matt Guidry, Thad Olivier, Scotty Olivier, and John Will Vaughn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donna Hollins, Shelly Dowies, Dedra Ashy, and Darla Richard.
Grace’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Grace Hospice and their staff, and to her wonderful caregivers for the last five years, especially Martha Sweeney, Brenda Taylor, Marella Hardy, and Sandra Russo.
