VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Grant James Calais, 23, who passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Michael Delcambre , Pastor of St. Joseph Church, will conduct the services. Reading the scriptures for the service will be his godmother, Sadie Calais and Lisa Coats. Gift bearers will be his nephew, Gaven Calais, Jhansi Calais and Raylea Huval. Survivors include his parents, Ronnie Lynn and Tina Huval Calais of Breaux Bridge; his brother, Garrett J. Calais of Lafayette, his nephew, Gaven J. Calais; his grandmother, Yvonne C. Huval of Cecilia; his aunts and uncles, Perry and Sadie Calais of Cecilia, Jun and Julie Calais of Cecilia, Kerney and Dolly Trahan of Baton Rouge, Thomas Begnaud of Cecilia, Doreen L. Hollier of Parks, Lisa and Morris Coats of Thibodaux, Jude and Becky Huval of St. Louis, MO, Gregg and Susan Huval of Austin, TX, Tim and Danni Huval of Scottsdale, AZ and Ben Huval of Breaux Bridge and numerous loving cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gabrielle Ophelia Calais; maternal grandfather, Paul "Pyank" Huval; paternal grandparents, Clay and Pearl Pontiff Calais and Ophelia Guidry and Allen Paul Calais, Sr.; maternal great-grandparents, Percy and Felicianna "Snook" Guidry Calais; aunt, Paula C. Begnaud and uncle Burton J. LeBlanc. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be his godfather, Perry Calais, his brother, Garrett Calais, and his uncles, Jude Huval, Gregg Huval and Ben Huval. Honorary pallbearers will be Ian Calais, Tommy Begnaud, Kerney Trahan, Stef LeBlanc, Morris Coats, Tim Huval and Allen Paul Calais, Jr. Grant's family would like to extend a very special "Thank You" to the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, especially Beverly Rozas, for their care and compassion. Heartfelt thanks to Kari Richardson, Dr. Warren Degatur and Dr. Carlos A. Bruno for their never ending concern and care for Grant. Also, his caretakers, Judy LeGrand, Vorena Boyer, Colleen Taylor and his past caretakers who gave their unconditional love. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
