Gurlie Broussard

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Gurlie Boutte Broussard, 81, who passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:30 am until 11:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 11 am. Rev. Rusty Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Cassie Carden and Gerald Sieber. Gift bearers will be Kristen Hebert, Kelly Blanchard and Landon Carden. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Broussard enjoyed sewing, playing pokeno, bingo and babysitting. She cherished moments spent with family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Julie Ann Broussard and husband Glenn of Jeanerette, Karen Breaux and husband Donald of New Iberia, Donna Blanchard and husband Terry of Breaux Bridge, and someone she loved like a daughter, Sandra Prioux; son; Bobby Joseph Broussard and wife Marline of New Iberia; sisters, Rita Dionne of Youngsville and Lillian Boudreaux of New Iberia; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and1 great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by husband, of 47 years, Bobby Broussard, Sr.; parents, Laurent and Octa Bourque Boutte; brothers, Clovis Boutte, Ossay Boutte, Samuel Boutte, Abdon "Dan" Boutte, and CP Boutte; and her sister, Laurence B. Sieber. Pallbearers will be Jason Broussard, Colby Broussard, Brandon Hebert, Casy Broussard, Kerry Blanchard, and Wes Carden. Her family request that donations can be made to Bridgeway Hospice, 2014 W. Pinhook Rd. Lafayette, LA 70508, in Mrs. Broussard's memory.
