Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Guy James Blanchard, 30, who died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will conduct the funeral services. The readers will be Brenda Douet and Rachelle Gallet, and gift bearers will be Troy Blanchard and Sonja B. Benoit. Guy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching movies, entertaining his friends, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his parents, Bert and Louise LeBlanc Blanchard, of Parks; one brother, Troy Blanchard, of Houston, TX; one sister, Sonja Benoit and her husband, Tim, of Broussard; five nieces, Christin Dupuis Hebert, Mavis Blanchard, Chelsie Blanchard, Taylor Blanchard, and Marlie Blanchard; two nephews, Kasen and Triston Blanchard; and one great nephew, Bryson Hebert. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Garland "T-Neg" and Gloria Blanchard; and maternal grandparents, Ariestelle LeBlanc and Atamais Boudreaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday and continue at 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Sunday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Dustin Blanchard, Dannah Blanchard, Lance Blanchard, Blake Blanchard, Tyson Theriot, and Nick Laviolette. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Blanchard and Tim Benoit. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
