Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks for Gwendolyn Wiltz Glover, 69, who passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. Nicholas DuPre' will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Ruby Celestine and Michelle Mason. Gift Bearers will be Racquel and Rachel Thomas.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Gwendolyn was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Louis Chapel in Parks. She was a member of the St. Louis Expressions Choir, Ladies Altar Society, St. Paul Benevolent Society, and was a Rosary Group Curator. Gwendolyn had a passion for helping others, whether if it was helping to donate or just being there for someone in need. She served as an Alderwoman for the Village of Parks from 2004-2008. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her daughters, Vanetta Faye Matthews and husband Gilbert and Quanzette Guilliam and husband Jody; sister, Angelica Wiltz and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Hannah and Sarah Guilliam; and one niece, Kaisha Wiltz.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elevra Thibodeaux; and daughter, Shontella Glover.
Pallbearers will be Gilbert Matthews, Jody Guilliam, Everette Thomas, Dexter Thomas, Arthur C. Hypolite, and Stephen Hypolite.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Wiltz, Sheriff Ronnie Theriot, Jeffery Wiltz, Andre Phillips, Reginald Clues, Warren Celestine, Lloyd Clark, Ward Gillum, and Filer Wiltz.
