Hali Jo Metzel

New Iberia Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Hali Jo Metzel, 23, who passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 in Mandeville. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Monday. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Dr. Steve Horn will officiate. Hali was born on April 16, 1991 in Abbeville, and was a resident of Mandeville. A graduate of New Iberia Senior High and the University of Louisiana Lafayette, she worked as a dance instructor and a choreographer. She enjoyed dancing, pets, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her mother, Beth Landry Metzel and companion Jimmy Brewer of Breaux Bridge; her father, Michael R. Metzel of New Iberia; her companion, Megan Schneider of Mandeville; her grandmother, Frances Frankie Alexander Landry of New Iberia; a brother, Travis Metzel and wife Stephanie of Missouri City, Texas; a sister, Kristi Bradley and husband Troy of Missouri City, Texas; godparents, Pattie Colomb and Travis Metzel; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kenneth and D.J. Coonie Derouen Landry, Harold Best, and Dr. M.R. Metzel. Pallbearers will be Travis Metzel, Troy Bradley, GA Fortier, Anthony Metzel, Jeffery Derouen, and Rodney Schexnayder. Honorary pallbearers include Christopher Smith, Greg Metzel, and Joshua Garrould.
