St. Martinville- Halphen A. Latiolais, 93, passed away peacefully at his residence in St. Martinville on April 18, 2025.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville on Monday, April 21,2025 at 8:30 AM until 10:45 AM. A burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville
Halphen was born on November 27, 1931 in St. Martin Parish. As a proud member of the United States Air Force, Halphen served actively for 13 years and continued his service in the reserves. His time in the military was marked by travel and camaraderie, creating memories he often described as the "best time of his life." His dedication was matched only by his passion for flying, exemplified by his pride in holding a commercial pilot's license.
Halphen's academic journey led him to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. After completing his education, he embraced his true calling as a rancher and farmer, where he found joy in raising cattle and chickens, nurturing a lifestyle that celebrated the simple pleasures of rural life. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his cousins, Sybil C. Shilling, Leona Montfort, Diane Boudreaux and Daniel Latiolais, Jr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jean Aldus Latiolais and Urcile Laviolette Latiolais.
Pallbearers will be Harold Boudreaux, Jr., Chad Boudreaux, and Daniel Latiolais, Jr.
